Dr. Alfonso Barrera has been in private practice as a plastic surgeon in Houston since 1985 and is dedicated to the highest standards of excellence. He is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Barrera specializes in plastic surgery and hair transplantation for both men and women. As a past president of both the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Barrera has extensive experience in the field and the admiration of his peers.

In addition, Dr. Barrera served as chairman of the Plastic Surgery Section-Department of Surgery at Memorial Hospital, Memorial City in Houston from 2004-2008 and as a member of the Executive Committee of Memorial Herman – Memorial City Hospital 2004-2008. Dr. Barrera enjoys passing on his knowledge to prospective surgeons at Baylor College of Medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Barrera was invited to serve on the Executive Committee of The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for several years.

Dr. Ruff, M.D. Dr. Ruff, M.D.

Dr. Eric Ruff was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended Spring Woods High School, where he developed an early interest in plastic surgery. He began his training at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He received his medical degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed a highly competitive integrated Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.

Throughout his six-year residency, Dr. Ruff trained at multiple esteemed hospitals throughout Texas, including UTMB Galveston/League City, Shriners Hospital for Children, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, and numerous community aesthetic practices. During his training, Dr. Ruff developed a special interest in aesthetic surgery, specifically body contouring, and learned from leading aesthetic plastic surgeons in the greater Houston community.
